OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that, employees were exposed to a struck-by and/or crushing hazards: Exit 43, I-84 East, West Hartford, CT. - On or about 8-26-15 - The employer did not perform a 1000 hour disassembly inspection/maintenance of the booms on the Paxton-Mitchell Snooper 260-C, S/N 2899 in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations listed in the owner's manual, which exposes employees to potential failure of mechanisms in place to provide for the safety of the operators and inspectors using the equipment.
