Abstract: At 11:30 a.m. on September 5, 2017, Employee #1 was changing the emergency ballast on a 277 VAC soffit fluorescent light system, while standing on a ladder. The live branch circuit wire became exposed, contacting the new ballast that was being installed. The contact energized the ballast, which was touching the portion of the wall the employee's forearms were leaning on. This section of the wall then became energized, shocking the employee. Employee #1 was hospitalized for his injuries.
