Abstract: At 11:15 a.m. on April 14, 2017, an employee was working on his knees abrasive blasting the port side top deck of a newly constructed tugboat. As the employee was getting up to change position, the employee slipped on abrasive blasting material, lost balance and accidentally blasted the left forearm. The employee sustained a laceration and abrasive blasting grit was embedded under the skin.
