Abstract: At approximately 8:45 p.m. on November 15, 2012, Employee #1, a packer, was working inside the food preparation area of the Pocino Foods Company facility. The employee was moving meat of combo towards her to make more room inside mixer, when her apron became stuck on the door. The employee while trying to pull the apron away from the door, her hand was pulled into the bottom opening of the mixer. Employee #1's right hand contacted the moving blender inside mixer resulting in a full amputation of her right thumb. The employee was taken to an area hospital, where she was treated. Employee #1 remains hospitalized.
