Abstract: At approximately 10:00 a.m. on August 2, 2011 two choker setters were setting chokers and had contacted the Yoder to yard the logs to the landing. As the logs started to move, the largest and longest of the choked logs started to wing into lead. As the log moved, the log hit an alder log lying next to it and moved it towards the two choker setters. The alder narrowly missed the rigging slinger and struck Employee #1, a hook tender, in the head. He sustained massive head trauma and was killed.
