Abstract: At 12:00 p.m. on February 5, 2022, an employee and a coworker were attempting to lower the wings of the spring tooth they had just moved to another ranch. While trying to lower the first wing, the employee got onto the spring tooth to try and assist with slightly lifting the wing as the coworker was pulling the pin. The employee tried lifting the wing instead of actuating the hydraulics for raising the wing. As the coworker removed the pin, the wing unexpectedly shifted down and the rope attached to the wing became taunt. At the time, the employee had one of his hands resting on a metal bar when the taunt rope pinched his fingers against the metal bar. A couple of the employee's left hand fingers were amputated. The employee was hospitalized.
