Abstract: At 10:30 a.m. on June 14, 2021, a termite technician lead was working on the second story of a two-story residential home to take measurements for scaffolding needed for dormer and fascia repairs. While stepping on the narrow window sill, the employee caused part of it to break, lost balance, and fell approximately 10 feet to the concrete driveway below, knocking the ladder down during the fall. The employee suffered fractures to the tibia and fibula bones in the ankle and was hospitalized for treatment, including a closed reduction of the fractures. The employee did not assess the hazard of working on a tile roof prior to the incident.
