Abstract: At 4:40 p.m. on April 1, 2021, an employee was standing up in the cab on the passenger side of an Advanced Disposal manual side loading recycle collection Mack truck. Their coworker was driving the truck along a residential collection route. The coworker made a slight right turn out and drove forward, slowing as they approached a residential collection bin. The employee exited the truck before it came to a complete stop and slipped or stepped out of the truck. The employee's right foot and lower leg were run over by the truck's right side front tire ( Bridgestone M870 315/80 R22.5). The employee sustained crushing injuries to the right foot and lower leg, resulting in a medical amputation. He was hospitalized.
