Abstract: At 2:45 p.m. on January 6, 2021, an employee was leaving the worksite at the end of the workday after installing shingles on the roof of a mobile home, approximately 14 feet above a lower level. The employee used an extension ladder to descend from the roof but as he began to descend, the ladder slipped and fell. The employee caught his leg in between the rungs of the ladder during the fall, causing severe damage to the knee, which required reconstructive surgery. The employee was hospitalized for treatment.
