Abstract: At 10:30 a.m. on July 6, 2020, an employee was cutting wood for the framing of a swimming pool using a Skilsaw. The employee, who had been working for his brother for about five years, was attempting to cut a 2x4 piece of wood when the saw became stuck. As he attempted to free the saw, it jumped back and severed his left fingers, resulting in an amputation. Despite the Skilsaw being fully guarded and equipped with all safety features, and the employee being trained in its use, this incident underscores the need for caution when operating power tools. The employee was hospitalized for treatment.
