Abstract: At 4:00 p.m. on November 3, 2019, an employee was attempting to dislodge a grain obstruction from an airlift. To reach the inspection hatch on the airlift, the employee stood on the housing to the grain. While standing on the housing, the cover plate came loose allowing the employee's leg to slip through and get caught in the grain auger. The employee was hospitalized to treat an amputation of his lower left leg.
