Abstract: At 9:00 a.m. on December 4, 2017, an employee was changing a chlorine production cell using a pneumatic impact wrench and a cell jumper switch (model number: WU18849; serial number: 1717001). During the change out, an arc flash occurred, followed by an arc blast, that damaged a section of the lug connection on the cell itself and hot molten copper was vaporized. The employee sustained burns to the lower half of his body, which he was hospitalized and received treatment.
