This year’s Construction Roundtable theme was “Building Bridges: Enhancing Collaboration and Strengthening Partnerships in the Construction Industry”. The goal was to share valuable information and resources to Alliance Program participants and their members and/or stakeholders to protect construction workers, and to promote enhanced collaboration and a stronger partnership between participants.
During the meeting on March 19, 2026, Arlene Williams, Acting Director, Directorate of Cooperative and State Programs, USDOL-OSHA, provided opening remarks. Amanda Wood Laihow , Deputy Acting Assistant Secretary, USDOL-OSHA, thanked attendees for their participation and provided an update on the agency's current direction, activities, and major initiatives.
The Directorate of Construction presented updates on OSHA’s construction-related activities, including inspection data, leading indicators, and upcoming outreach initiatives. In a panel called “Enhancing Collaboration and Strengthening Partnerships in the Construction Industry”, attendees heard from OSHA’s Directorate of Cooperative and State Programs (DCSP), The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and the Center for Construction Research and Training (CPWR) with updates on their efforts and resources. During the Alliance Program Showcase, a representative from the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), a National Alliance participant, discussed workplace harassment and violence against women in the construction industry.
